Keynsham Civic Centre triumphs at RIBA South West Awards 2015

Keynsham Civic Centre was among outstanding buildings honoured in the RIBA South West Awards 2015 from the Royal Institute of British Architects.
Keynsham Civic Centre, Dundon Passivhaus, Hauser & Wirth's Durslade Farm gallery at Bruton, the Fitzjames Teaching & Learning Centre at Hazlegrove School, Sparkford, the Myrtle Cottage Garden Studio, and the Pod Gallery, both near Bath, all triumphed from an initial entry of 48 projects, and a shortlist of 16 buildings across the region.
Keynsham Civic Centre and One Stop Shop by Bristol's AHR Architects also won the Sustainability Award sponsored by SIKA. The striking new buildings are approached via an existing street and reveal themselves in the form of the library and one stop shop building, a large gold box floating over a recessed stone and glass entrance area. MACH Acoustics was pleased to support this project and enjoyed working to its strength of providing sustainable acoustics which really shone through.
Chair of the jury, Andy Ramus, of award-winning AR Design Studio, said of Keynsham Civic Centre that a great deal of effort had been made by both client and architect to ensure the highest of green credentials.
